Horology prize-giving ceremony took place in Geneva

11 november 2014
Excellence, innovation and watchmaking expertise were duly rewarded in the Grand Théâtre de Genève, on the occasion of the 14th Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) prize-giving ceremony.
The ceremony was attended by around 1,500 guests including influential figures from the world of watchmaking, finance and politics. This 14th edition of the GPHG registered a record participation with representation from all the major watchmaking groups as well as a number of independent companies.
The international jury handed out 16 prizes, including the supreme “Aiguille d’Or”, distinction, awarded to Breguet for the Classic Chronométrie model. This prize was officially presented on-stage by the Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann, who praised the vitality of the Swiss watch industry.
"Ladies’ Watch Prize" award went to Blancpain for Women Off-centred Hour, the best Men’s Watch became Central Second created by Urban Jürgensen & Sonner,
Jewellery Watch Prize nomination got Diva High Jewellery Emeralds from Bulgari, Classic Fusion Cathedral Tourbillon Minute Repeater from the Hublot won Striking Watch Prize. Artistic Crafts Watch Prize awarded went to Voutilainen for Hisui watches. The most Innovative Watch became the EMC from Urwerk.
Christophe Claret's Margot watch was honored with the the Ladies’ High Mech award. It's ingenious mechanism helps to answer one of the nature’s paramount questions: “He loves me... he loves me not”.
Margot’s innovative complication lets the wearer ‘pick’ the petals off a daisy on the dial. With each press of the pusher at 2 o’clock, a crystalline chime resonates and a petal – sometimes a pair of petals, it is impossible to foresee – subtly disappears under the dial in a smooth action, perfectly depicting the delicate undressing of the flower. The eagerly-awaited answer appears at random "Forces feelings" in calligraphic letters in French on the dial at 4 o’clock: “Un peu” - a little, “beaucoup” - a lot, “passionnément” – passionately, “à la folie” – madly, “pas du tout” - not at all.
Debuting at Baselworld this past spring, the elegant Margot has already conquered the hearts of those in the horological world.
There were four limited editions of  Margot of 20 pieces each.
