Public sector mining majors to invest heavily in MP; NMDC pursues Panna

Large companies namely Steel Authority of India Limited, National Mining Development Corporation, Hindustan Copper Limited, NALCO, Maol Limited will be investing crores of rupees in Madhya Pradesh (MP) state in India.
A meeting between Union minister for steel, mining, labour and employment Narendra Singh Tomar and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was held on 1-10-2014 in Bhopal (MP) on investment possibilities and other issues.
The issues related to mining development and mining were discussed in detail.
The Chief Minister said the state government is committed to maintain full transparency in mining development and mining. To know the actual quantity of mining resources in the state, geological survey would be done by National Mining Development Corporation. A pact between the state government, NMDC and Geological Survey of India would be done about it.
On discovering the availability of 10 million carat diamond in Panna, NMDC gave proposals of mining at the meeting. NMDC also assured that mining would not affect Tiger Reserve; and latest technology would be utilised for mining purposes.
