New DiaMension™ Axiom's is now to be used by Tiffany to evaluate diamonds symmetry

11 september 2014
Tiffany & Co is to start using new automated system for the grading of a polished diamond’s symmetry by Sarine Technologies Ltd, worldwide leader in the development and manufacturing of precision technology products for the diamond industry,Sarine says in press statement.
Back in 2011 Tiffany posed Sarine with a challenge to ensure the facet symmetry features of a polished diamond with unprecedented high accuracy. Previously these features could not be determined by any existing device and were manually evaluated by gemologists using microscope.
Following extensive research, a new concept, based on advanced video imagery analysis using microscopic magnification, culminated in Sarine's new DiaMension™ Axiom.
"DiaMension™ Axiom's accuracy verified by Tiffany & Co and now to be used to formalize new high quality standarts of symmetry", press statement says. Axiom which ascertains a round or fancy-shaped polished diamond's proportions.
Axiom's abilities extend to measuring a gem's minute features, such as facet junctions, facet misalignment and facet distortions – all necessary to accurately grade a stone's symmetry.
