In case of sanctions we will not have to go dumping

08 september 2014
According to the Kommersant Vlast Magazine, Alexander Akhpolov, Chief of Administrative Department of the Russian Federation Ministry of Finance, said replying to the question, what Russia will do if sanctions will be imposed on Russian diamond exports: “If sanctions will be there, then the firms operating on the territory of these countries will still have to buy our diamonds, but using intermediaries in neutral states. If they feel that they need it, let them impose sanctions.”
“We are already considering options for reducing diamond export under long-term contracts with European and American firms,” he added. “We have decided to reduce the volume of exports to the companies operating in the territory of particularly sanction-minded countries by one third in favor of India, China and Armenia. So, mined diamonds will not remain deprived of demand. If sanctions are imposed all at once, we will not have to dump our goods striving for sales.”
