ALROSA’s MOU with DDC to Strengthen Its Position at the U.S. Market

Development of cooperation between the Russian diamond corporation ALROSA and the Diamond Dealers Club of New York (DDC) can encourage expansion of markets for the diamond producer, IFC analyst Anna Linevskaya said cited by
The document (Memorandum of Understanding) signed by the parties this past May provides for exchange of information with respect to the diamond market trends, certification process and the other issues.
The above agreement is very important for the international promotion of ALROSA’s production; taking into consideration the most recent trends the company will be able to benefit from presentation of its rough and polished diamonds to potential buyers.
Linevskaya noted that all the parties shall maintain the normal rhythm of work in the field of separation of natural and synthetic diamond sales - the market shall remain "clean" and transparent. The expert added that the agreement signed with the DDC can be a step toward strengthening ALROSA’s position especially at the U.S. market.
