Moscow to Host CIBJO Jewellery Congress

At the invitation of the Russian Jewelers Guild Association Moscow will host the annual Congress of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO), slated fr om 17 to 21 May 2014,
which will be held in the Russian Federation for the first time ever, Rough&Polished were reported at the press service of the Russian Jewelers Guild Association.
During several days Moscow will become the capital of the global jewellery industry, and this major event will bring together more than 135 delegates representing 40 national organizations in the industry of precious stones, metals and jewellery, wh ere they will discuss and bring solutions over a lot of crucial and topical issues of the industry.
CIBJO Congress 2014 is organized under the auspices of the Government of the Russian Federation - Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture, Gokhran and Assay Chamber.
Despite tense political situation as a result of the Ukrainian crisis, more than 100 participants have already confirmed their intention to participate in the event, including top officials of the key structures of the global jewellery sector and national associations from numerous countries and regions such as Austria, Brazil, UK, Denmark, Italy, Israel, the Netherlands, USA, Thailand, France, Switzerland, South Africa, Japan, etc.
Organization of this congress in the Russian capital will enable to unlock the potential and the whole diversity of the Russian jewellery industry and will serve as an important mechanism for shaping the international prestige and promotion of the best traditions of the Russian jewellery industry, and will enhance positive image of the country subject to its rich culture and jewellery.
Within the scope of the CIBJO Congress 2014 an exhibition of jewellery artworks submitted to jewellery competition “Russia. The XXI Century” to Gokhran will be held with the award ceremony of the competition to follow. The winner of Grand Prix will be entitled to expose his item at the Diamond Fund of the Moscow Kremlin.
Press conference and official opening of the Congress will take place on May 16 at 01.00 p.m. in the offices of ITAR-TASS.
