Vladimir Putin signed a decree to reward the personnel of the Smolensk-based diamond manufacturer “for achievements and high performance in professional activities.” Alexei Ostrovsky, Governor of the Smolensk Region, conveyed the gratitude of the Russian Federation President to Maxim Shkadov, CEO of Kristall. In his congratulatory speech, the head of the region noted that many generations of those working at Kristall have been doing their utmost to reach this important milestone and assured that the Administration of the Smolensk Region would continue to support the company's management and make serious efforts to develop their business further.
"We are trying to convey to the leadership of the country that such a unique company as Kristall, as well as its fame should be preserved for many more years. I am confident that we will be able to take steps that will allow Kristall to maintain production at least at the current level and create a diamond processing cluster in the future. The Administration of the Smolensk Region will certainly support you in this,” Alexei Ostrovsky summed up.
Kristall, OAO, which is the largest diamond processing company in Europe, was established on March 1, 1963. It is specialized in manufacturing top quality diamond goods recognized throughout the world under the brand of Russian Cut. Kristall is producing diamonds internationally classified as Double Excellent and Triple Excellent. The number of employees engaged in diamond manufacturing is currently over 2,000 people. One hundred percent of Kristall’s shares is owned by the Russian Federation.
