Antwerp Welcomes the Fifth Diamond Trade Fair

The fifth exclusive Diamond Fair runs from January 26 to 28 in Antwerp, Belgium, which is the capital of the world diamond business.
Similar to the previous trading sessions, the fair is held behind closed doors - the event is available only by invitation.
This year it involves about hundreds of diamond retailers from Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America. Its diverse range of diamonds in the halls of the Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel), the Antwerp Diamond Club and Antwerp Diamond Kring - represent about 90 diamond firms.
According to Marcel Pruwer, the president of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse (Beurs voor Diamanthandel), five years after its inception, the ADTF with its breathtaking array of diamonds, is living proof of Antwerp's leading position as the world's preferred diamond supplier to the downstream markets worldwide."
During the fair, two breakfast seminars are scheduled. On January 27, Chicago diamond marketing pundit Aleah Arundale-Siegel will speak on marketing diamonds and diamond jewelry to retailers. At the second breakfast seminar, on January 28, Ernest Blom, the president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), will present the initiative undertaken by the World Diamond Mark Foundation (WDMF) to create and implement a global, generic diamond marketing and promotion campaign.
The diamond boots were demonstrated for the first time in Europe during the "Antwerp Diamond Night" on January 26.
Antwerp now accounts for 80% of sales of rough diamonds and over 50% of polished diamond sales. Diamond business directly and indirectly provides income to 34 thousand inhabitants of Antwerp.
