Sunraj Diamond Exports Ltd. reported that net sales rose 27 percent year on year to $2.7 million (INR 145.2 million) during its second fiscal quarter that ended on September 30, 2012.
The company posted a net profit of $5,769 (INR 316,000) as compared with a net loss of $27,127 (INR 1.5 million) one year earlier, Rapaport reports.
Sunraj, which trades in cut and polished diamonds, stated that second-quarter expenditures increased 23 percent year on year to $2.6 million (INR 142.5 million).
During the fiscal first half, the company’s net sales fell 20 percent year on year to $4.6 million (INR 249.4 million). Net profit jumped to $45,199 (INR 2.5 million) during the period from $8,689 (INR 476,000) a year earlier.
