Afri-Can to start diamond sampling in Namibia this month

02 november 2012

Afri-Can Marine Minerals Corporation said it signed a charter agreement for the vessel mv DP The Explorer with International Mining and Dredging to carry out a diamond-sampling programme on its concession in Namibia.
The programme was expected to start by November 25 and would last for at least 14 days, it said in a statement.
The priorities of the programme were to begin delineation of the diamond potential and inferred resources in targeted areas of the diamondiferous features already identified in the southern portion of the Exclusive Prospecting Licence (EPL) 3403.
“It would also include some exploratory samples in new target areas delineated by the recent geophysical survey. Details of the program will be disclosed in a separate press release,” Afri-Can said.
EPL 3403 covers approximately 800 square kilometres and was adjacent to the north of the Atlantic One Mining Lease 47 owned by Namdeb Diamond Corporation.
