IGI participated at IIJS 2012

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) participated at the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2012, presenting its wide range of services and offers. The intent was to held trade visitors be better informed about ways to transform their business, Diamond World reports.
IGI undertook different strategies to inform the visitors – with personal discussions, workshops etc. The IGI gemological professionals explained IGI services on certification, the importance of certification and about its education initiatives. IGI had a ‘Live Grading laboratory’ with its senior gemologists guiding visitors, similar to its 2009 participation at IIJS when IGI offered analysis and certification services with a full on-site laboratory. Senior team members from IGI attended visitor queries at the booth, building closer cooperation with clients. Also, tailor-made customized solutions, one-on-one meetings with IGI directors were scheduled in advance.
The IGI School of Gemology conducted ‘Power Workshops’ about the art of grading, and identification of the 4 C’s, which were attended by the elite club visitors, students, family members of the manufacturers, international visitors, etc. IGI received favourable response for the workshops, with many participants signing up for the IGI programs and outstation attendees requesting for courses in their cities.
Mr. Tehmasp Printer, Managing Director, IGI India said – “The awareness for quality and certification is rising amongst consumers. As a result a platform like the IIJS helps provide assurance and build confidence amongst jewellers and consumers alike. IGI’s endeavor to combine its international grading expertise with state-of-the-art technology marks a major milestone in the evolution of certification in India.”
