IDMA to Bring 2013 Presidents Conference to Toronto

15 june 2012

In one year, the International Diamond Manufacturers Association will bring their annual presidents' meeting to Toronto, Canada. IDMA President Moti Ganz announced the decision, noting that it reflected the organization's desire to hold their meetings in countries that are themselves diamond producers, Israelidiamond.co.il reported.
Ganz noted that Canada is at present the third largest producer of gem quality diamonds in the world, and that it is likely to maintain its global position in the diamond industry in the decades to come because of new potentially lucrative mines under development. Some of Canada's most productive mines are located in its Northwest Territories, while other Canadian provinces in latitudes further south, such as Ontario and Quebec, also have diamond mines.
The 2013 IDMA Presidents Conference will take place from May 12 to May 15 and be hosted by the Diamond Manufacturers Association of Canada and its president Bhushan Vora. IDMA Secretary General Ronnie Vander Linden noted that it would immediately precede a conference of the Society of North American Goldsmiths and that the coinciding of the two conferences creates opportunities to benefit both groups.
