Tiens Seeks to Mine Diamonds in Zimbabwe

The president of the Chinese firm Tiens, Kevin Hou, said his company is set to venture into diamond mining in Zimbabwe as part of their diversified program, Rapaport reported citing the Herald. Speaking shortly after his arrival at Harare International Airport, Hou said a special delegation from Tiens headquarters is on its way to meet the government as he is in Zimbabwe to spearhead their new distribution channel for traditional medicines.
He was welcomed by ZANU-PF Politburo member Cde. Kumbirai Kangai and his wife Miriam. Tiens is an international company involved in marketing Chinese traditional medicines and other services.
“Tiens will in the following month send a special delegation to meet with President Robert Mugabe in open dialogue and formalizing our wish to venture into diamond and platinum mining in the country.”
“Zimbabwe has vast business opportunities and a good market hence we are looking forward to expand our activities in this country,” Hou said.
