Botswana diamond miner Debswana reshuffles board

Debswana Diamond Company, a mining joint venture between De Beers and the government of Botswana, has appointed a new board chairman and members.
The chairmanship of the Debswana board rotated every two calendar years between the two shareholders.
The 2012 and 2013 calendar years would be the government of Botswana’s turn and the permanent secretary to the President and a Debswana director since 2003, Eric Molale, had assumed the chairmanship of the board.
Nicky Oppenheimer would be the deputy board chairman.
Molale had previously served as the board chairman for the 2008 and 2009 calendar years.
Meanwhile, Debswana said that Gareth Mostyn and Bruce Cleaver had been appointed as directors of the company by the shareholders.
Mostyn was the new De Beers Chief Financial Officer while Cleaver was De Beers’ director of Strategy and New Business.
