High level forum to review options for a diamond promotion body

A meeting of leading industry participants will be held in London on February 24, 2009, to exchange views on the potential role such an industry organisation could play in focussing on the future of the diamond industry. This meeting is a follow up to initial discussions from a meeting convened in St Petersburg in 2008.

The London forum will focus on the preliminary findings from exploratory research, governance issues, and the potential role such an organisation could play in industry advocacy, consumer confidence and category level marketing.

Attendance at this meeting will be by invitation only, with existing industry organisations such as IDMA, WFDB and GJEPC invited to the meeting and to subsequently contribute in communicating with the broader industry. A working group will be established post February 24th to progress next steps and possible contributions from the broader industry will be explicitly sought in the process going forward.
