Antwerp Diamond Bank CEO Goris to Retire

04 february 2009

Paul Goris, CEO and chairman of Antwerp Diamond Bank (ADB), will retire from the company effective April 15, Goris said in a letter to clients. He will be replaced by Pierre De Bosscher, who will work on ADB’s executive committee with Theo Strous and Guy Snoeks, RAPAPORT reported.
“I am convinced that with its new management team, ADB will remain in extremely experienced and capable hands to continue [to] fulfill its role … to give the Antwerp diamond sector the necessary support to continue to make Antwerp sparkle as world diamond capital,” Goris said.
Goris further reported that ADB this past January 26 celebrated the 75th anniversary since its predecessor, the Comptoir Diamantaire Anversois, was established (in 1934) with the mission to finance Belgium's diamond industry. “In 1937, after the bank reform of the mid thirties, the Comptoir acquired a bank status and was transformed into the Antwerp Diamond Bank,” Goris explained.
