Littman Jewelers stores in Tennessee will change their name to Fred Meyer Jewelers on February 11, 2009, RAPAPORT reported. Oregon-based Fred Meyer Jewelers will also hold two grand openings that day in Tennessee, and it plans to open 15 new stores in the U.S. during the year. Fred Meyer Jewelers purchased Littman Jewelers in 1998. Kroger Co. acquired fred Meyer Jewelers' parent company Fred Meyer Stores Inc. in 1999.
"Other than a new name, customers won't see a difference," said Peter Engel president of Fred Meyer Jewelers and Littman Jewelers. "Our dedicated jewelry professionals will remain in place and look forward to continuing to serve our customers as they celebrate their special times."
