AGD Diamonds helped create the Lekshmokh nature reserve in the Arkhangelsk Province

The Government of the Arkhangelsk Province issued a Decree on the creation of the Lekshmokh reserve in the Kenozersky National Park. The project was implemented with the financial assistance of the diamond-mining company AGD Diamonds, according to the website of the national park.
The wetland system “Lekshmokh” has a high conservation value, since all the types of wetland arrays characteristic of the middle-taiga subzone are presented here.

In 2017, the Kenozersky National Park with the financial assistance of AGD Diamonds (then Arkhangelskgeoldobycha LLC) as part of the development of a protected zone project began work on the preparation of an environmental justification for the creation of the Lekshmokh reserve.
As a result of the expedition work funded by the miner, new data on avifauna, myco and lichen biota, vegetation were obtained, habitats of rare and protected plant and animal species were discovered, scientists gained knowledge about the nature of this territory, the report said.
AGD Diamonds develops the Grib diamond deposit in the Arkhangelsk Province, the Russian Federation.
Last year, the company became a laureate in two nominations – “Breakthrough of the Year” and “Social Responsibility” – for the implementation at the Grib diamond mine of groundbreaking, modern and ecologically friendly technologies and equipment respectful of the environment as well as for social assistance and welfare aid to the organizations and communities of the Arkhangelsk Province.
