Petra Diamonds names new CEO

19 february 2019

petra_diamonds_logo.pngPetra Diamonds has appointed Richard Duffy as the group’s new chief executive with effect from 1 April 2019.
Duffy, who brings 27 years' experience in mining in a variety of operational and functional leadership roles at Anglo American and AngloGold Ashanti, would take over from Johan Dippenaar.
Petra chairperson Adonis Pouroulis said Duffy was expected to drive the group's transition from a phase of intensive capital expenditure and expansion to a focus on steady-state, cash-generative operations.
He had extensive experience in both open pit and underground mining and a proven focus on safety, productivity and community relations, said Petra.
Dippenaar led Petra for 14 years.
