Mountain Province to use CanadamarkTM certification program

05 june 2018
Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. reported that the company entered into an agreement with Dominion Diamond Mines, according to which Mountain Province can use CanadamarkTM certification program, says a press note from the company.
Dominion’s Canadamark verifies that the diamonds are natural and untreated, mined in Canada and confirms their compliance with social, environmental and ethical standards. Joining this initiative, Mountain Province is determined to assure the supply chain integrity of Canadian diamonds from mine to retail.
Reid Mackie, Mountain Province’s Vice President Diamond Marketing, said that customers who were going to their share of the Gahcho Kué production would be able to apply for Canadamark™ certification.
Dominion’s CEO Patrick Evans said, “We are proud to partner with other diamond producers such as to promote the natural beauty of Canadian diamonds through the Canadamark program. Canadian diamonds are highly sought after by discerning buyers around the world who place special value on a product that has been responsibly mined, cut and polished.”
Mountain Province Diamonds is a 49% participant with De Beers Canada in the Gahcho Kué diamond mine located in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
