(TASS) – ALROSA's Verhnemunskoye diamond deposit in Yakutia will be commissioned before the end of 2018, according to ALROSA's president Andrey Zharkov cited by TASS.
"We will soon complete the construction of technological passage from Udachniy to the diamond field. In 2017, we will continue active construction of a shift camp, residential complex, diesel power station, and according to the investment agreement with the Government of the Republic, the project should be completed before the end of 2018," - he said.
Earlier TASS reported that ALROSA had signed an agreement with the Ministry for the development of the Far East of the Russian Federation on state support in the amount of 8.5 billion rubles for the creation of technological 150 km passage from the city to the successful Verhnemunskoye deposit in Yakutia. The field is expected to create diamond-mining venture production capacity of 3 million tonnes of ore per year.
The Verhnemunskoye diamond field development is one of the largest investment projects of ALROSA. The volume of investment is 62.98 billion rubles. Ore reserves at the field are estimated at 65 million tons with an average grade of approximately 0.6 carats per tonne, or 38 million carats in total. Mine life is estimated until 2043.
