Construction of 'Surat Diamond Bourse' begins in presence of Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani

The Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) contruction work commenced on October 23 in the presence of the Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani, the Dy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, government officials and industry members, says a press statement.
The bourse project is part of the DREAM city project promoted by the Gujarat government at Khajod, near Surat. Construction of SDB is expected to be completed, and the bourse operational by 2019.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the project would create nearly 1.5 lakh jobs and help develop Surat, which is already the world’s largest manufacturing centre, into a global trading centre as well.The project, spread over 36 acres on the outskirts of the city,will house over 4,000 offices, including common facilities such as trading hall, self-deposit vaults, museums, banks, customs office, retail zone, auction house and security control room etc.
