Mariinsky Theatre gave concert in Yakutsk with financial support from ALROSA

29 july 2016
ALROSA, the world’s top diamond producer by carat weight, has become a partner to the concert performance of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra under Valery Gergiev playing Sergey Prokofiev's "Betrothal in a Monastery" in Yakutsk. The concert, which took place yesterday in Yakutsk on the stage of the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) was held with financial support rendered by the diamond mining company.
The proceeds from the concert will be used to preserve a famous historical and cultural site of federal significance in Yakutia, which is St Nicholas Church in the Village of Cherkeh located in the Tatta Municipality, which was built in 1912. As part of the new model of social responsibility being implemented in Yakutia and designed to provide vital services in its outlying regions, ALROSA continues the tradition to offer socially focused services in the areas of its presence not only through paying taxes and fees, but also through supporting various projects in the field of culture and art.
