Pamela Anderson: I'd like to come up with a jewelry line soon, talking to Palladium about doing this!

16 july 2012

World famous actress Pamela Anderson was spotted at the Palladium Alliance International booth at the annual Couture Show in Las Vegas. The former Baywatch star was welcomed to Las Vegas by swarms of fans who could not wait to get a glimpse of her. Anderson expressed her love for Palladium because it enables her to add statement pieces to her simple looks without feeling too weighed down. In an exclusive interview to Rough&Polished, Anderson told American Bureau Editor-in-Chief Olga Patseva that she wants to do her own jewelry line soon.

What jewelry are you wearing right now?

Pamela Anderson: I am wearing Palladium jewelry - A Palladium ring by Alishan, Palladium handwoven chain necklace by Ann Cahoon. I don't like necklaces normally, but this one actually looks very nice. Palladium diamond earrings by Jacob & Co. and Palladium tiara cuff by Pamela Froman Fine Jewelry.

Why did you choose to promote palladium?

They came to me and I have always been concerned about the environmentally friendly part of it. I am not a big jewelry wearer, but I like to wear silver and platinum. This looks very pretty. Also their mine in America won a bunch of awards for being green. I really did not know that mining could be green so that all enticed me to work with them.

What is the most important thing that you learned working in the jewelry industry?

I just love it. I want to do my own jewelry line actually. I talked to Palladium about doing this. I like belly chains, toe rings, earrings.. Gypsy type jewelry. Bangles and things like that. I'd like to come up with a jewelry line soon.

What makes you truly happy?

My mom really, I have a truly great mom. My boys make me truly happy... (She is mother to Brandon, 15, and Dylan, 13 from her marriage to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.)

Do you think that palladium will replace other precious metals such as gold or silver?

Palladium is new and it's lightweight. I think that people will be interested in trying it because its new. There's all sorts of gold and also silver. Palladium is something new, so I'm sure people will be excited about it.

Do you believe that diamonds are a girl's best friend?

(Laughing) No. Not necessarily. I love jewelry, I think it's beautiful and it can help a girl feel prettier about herself. But we should all be aware of where the diamonds come from to ensure they are non conflict and are not associated with violence or human rights abuses.
