The Open Joint Stock Company Nizhne-Lenskoe was founded in 1994 and deals in extraction of natural diamonds in Eastern Siberia (Yakutia). ÎÀÎ Nizhne-Lenskoe is the first independent diamond mining enterprise not depending on the ALROSA group in Yakutia. At present it is one of the leading republican enterprises in terms of growth of the diamonds’ extraction and sales volumes.
The shareholder (founder) of the Company is the Republic Sakha (Yakutia) represented by the Ministry of property relations of the Republic Sakha (Yakutia).
ÎÀÎ Nizhne-Lenskoe performs the extraction of diamonds on the plots Tiglikit, Billiakh, Molodo, Khara-Mas, Verkhnee Molodo, Talakhtakh.
The principal milestones of the company history: 1994 – establishment of the state mining-and-geological enterprise Nizhne-Lenskoe; 1997 – start of the test-industrial development of the alluvial diamonds deposit of the Molodo river in Bulunsky region; 1999 - start of the test-industrial development of the alluvial diamonds deposit of the Billiakh river in Anabarsky region; 1999 – 2002 – performance of the geological survey works and state registration of the alluvial diamonds deposits’ reserves Khara-Mas and Talakhtakh in Oleneksky region and Motorchuna in Zhigansky region; 2002 – transformation of the exploration and exploitation plots Molodo and Billiakh into quarries, start of development of the general projects of the alluvial diamonds deposits’ development Molodo and Billiakh; 2004 – search of the kimberlite bodies in the river Molodo basin; 2006 – a unique diamond weighing 298.48 carats, which was extracted from the alluvial deposit of the Billiakh river, was sent to the State Depositary of Precious Metals of Russia and has been exhibited since November 01, 2007 in the Diamond Fund of Russia under the name Creator; 2007 – exploration works and discovery of a new diamondiferous region Nizhne-Oleneksky, obtaining of the license for performance of the geological survey works at the Eekitsky object, launch of the third beneficiating plant on the Billiakh plot; 2008 - obtaining of the general license for export of the natural diamonds.
ÎÀÎ Nizhne-Lenskoe has an extended range of subsidiaries and affiliates performing the geological survey, extraction of mineral deposits, sorting out and faceting of minerals, production of jewelries as well as the banking, investment-financial and insurance activity, construction works and transportation.
