The company operates in this field through its subsidiary Africa Israel Housing. The company's original field of operation was land development. Today, the company's activities focus on initiating and constructing residential neighborhoods. The comprehensive stages of land development include locating and acquiring the property, planning the residential neighborhoods, handling the licensing procedures for surrounding infrastructure and development, interior design of the houses and apartments, setting building standards, constructing the project, marketing and selling the residential units, developing the surroundings, carrying out the parcelization, and registering the properties in the names of the owners. Danya Cebus is one of the largest companies in the Israeli contracting and construction sector and handles construction in various market segments. It also operates Cebus Rimon, who make prefabricated structures. Danya Cebus is active in a range of projects throughout the country including residential, public, industrial and commercial buildings. Danya Cebus was a major contractor in the Cross-Israel Highway, the country's largest infrastructure project. Africa Israel shares a partnership with two additional companies in Derech Eretz Highways (1997) Ltd., the group that won the tender to establish the Cross-Israel Highway. This 1.3 billion dollar project is the largest infrastructure enterprise in Israel since the country's establishment. The project is being managed and carried out by Derech Eretz, a company in which Africa Israel has a 37.5% interest. The Cross-Israel Highway, the first toll road in Israel, is operated by a modern electronic system for collection, supervision and control that is considered one of the most advanced of its kind in the world. The highway was completed last year, several months before the deadline, it was opened to traffic and toll collection began. Africa Israel is broadening its expertise and continuing to expand its B.O.T. activities both in Israel and internationally. The company constructed both the government compound in Tel Aviv and the student dormitories at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem under the B.O.T. method.

The company holds 34% of Packer Plada, a leading company in the steel industry and also in the ceramic field with a 69%holding in Negev Ceramics. Packer Plada and Negev Ceramics are publicly traded companies on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Packer Plada and Yad Paz recently merged thereby creating the largest steel group in Israel. The company also holds 51% in Anglo-Saxon Realty, the largest real estate chain in Israel, that has approximately 50 branches distributed throughout the country. The company entered the field of telecommunications when it acquired 20% of Mapal Communications Ltd., which operates in the fields of telecommunication, advertising and media. In addition, the company created, and currently operates, Channel 9 - Israel Plus, the Israeli Russian language channel, which first broadcast in 2002, after the group headed by Africa Israel won a tender issued by the Ministry of Communications to establish and operate the channel. Africa Israel holds 26.15% of Alon Israel Oil Company, which deals with the establishment and operation of gas stations and commercial areas, and in the marketing of crude oil and oil distillation. Alon holds 100% of Dor Energy and 100% of Dorgas, and is one of the largest energy and fuel companies in the country. Africa Israel expanded its overseas energy operations by acquiring, together with the Alon Gas Company, the operations of the international gas company Total Fina in the United States, and established Alon USA. The company's assets include: a refinery, transfer terminals, pipelines, concessions for the operation of approximately 1,700 gas stations, and ownership of the well known 7-11convenience store chain. Alon USA has increased its energy operations in the United States in the past year. In Israel, Alon and Dor continue to set up more gas stations and expand their operations. The Africa Israel Group's activity in the field of fashion is handled by the fashion group, Sea (Swim Experts Alliance). This group comprises a number of companies, including: Gottex - an Israeli company that is one of the world leaders in the design and production of swimsuits and beach wear.
In addition, the company owns the Canadian Christina Group with its Canadian partners. Christina produces and markets swimwear and lingerie, mostly in North America.
