The project is being managed and carried out by Derech Eretz, a company in which Africa Israel has a 37.5% interest. The Cross-Israel Highway, the first toll road in Israel, is operated by a modern electronic system for collection, supervision and control that is considered one of the most advanced of its kind in the world. The highway was completed last year, several months before the deadline, it was opened to traffic and toll collection began.
